Between 2008 and 2017, 117,530 immigrants settled in Winnipeg.

Newcomers are now Winnipeg’s fastest-growing population segment, with the city set to grow
by another 200,000 people in the next 20 years. Organizations have the opportunity to reach new customers and train talented employees by finding creative ways to introduce themselves to newcomers and meet the needs of new Canadians.

This white paper contains a brief overview of the
opportunities communicators have to address the pain points of newcomers and a list of recommendations in three categories of tactics: external communications, internal communications, and community relations and sponsorship.
